Recent Events

The biggest news I have right now is that I moved to Jerome, ID the end of December. Mike and I were able to go down to Provo the beginning of January to watch BYU play wakeforest; the game was so much fun to watch!!! But I still wish BYU would have pulled it out at the end. For the past week I've been working at a bookstore doing inventory and I've also applied to be a substitute teacher for the Jerome School District. Today was my first day of subbing. I subbed for a 3rd grade class and it was a lot of fun. At first I was really nervous because I had no idea what to do, but I think it went really well. So hopefully I'll start getting more calls to sub in the near future.

This past weekend Mike had to work in Pocatello on Thursday and Rexburg on Friday so I went with him. It was fun because I got to see my cousin Janelle who I hadn't seen in a long time. Also that weekend Mike played in a basketball tournament at the Sho-Ban rec center (its on an indian reservation near Idaho Falls). His team was a bunch of friends of his that used to play together years ago when they were all at BYU-I. They did really good and we a lot of fun to watch. I even got a couple pictures of Mike playing; they didn't turn out too well though cuz I was still trying to figure out my camera and the gym was way dark.

That's what I've been up to lately. I'm really happy to be here in Jerome, its been great being here with Mike. And its been really good hanging out with his family. They're all so nice and have welcomed me into their home better than I could have ever asked for.

Thanksgiving break!!!

I had the best thanksgiving break; a whole week of no school(thanks to my slacking attitude of not caring enough to drive back for one day of classes) and tons of amazing food! First big event of thanksgiving break was going go kevin's(mikes little brother) championship football game in pocatello. His team ended up losing, but Kev played great and was tons of fun to watch. The next few days consisted of hanging out with Mike's family, shopping in pocatello while Mike was in a meeting, and trying to conquer super mario. I did manage to go home to Fruitland wednesday and thursday to spend time with the family; which was great! I was able to pick Quincy up in boise on my way home and spoil him with peanut M&M's till Tyler and Kati showed up later that night. Then we just played games with the family and watched Christmas Vacation. Thanksgiving morning the guys and I went and played basketball while the 'moms' stayed home and took care of preparing the appetizers and the turkey. haha... I completely stuffed myself; especially with pumpkin pie!! YUM!!!

Friday morning I drove back to Jerome for my friend Linzi and Brady's wedding and reception. It was so great to be there when she came out of the temple and her reception was really good too. Saturday was Kev's first basketball game of the season; it was in Jerome against BK. It was a good opener game for Kev. There were pictures taken at Kev's football game and Linzi's reception, but I still need to get them from Mike. All I have is a pic of my family on Thanksgiving getting done eating.

I'm so thankful for my family! and also, Mike and his family for letting me spend so much time there at their home.

Family time in Boise!

This past week I was able to make it up to Boise for a couple of days to see my brother Tyler and his family. Also, my parents were able to make it to Boise Thursday night to take us out to dinner! It was a lot of fun staying at Tyler's place and hanging out with him, Kati and Quincy. Tyler rented some Brazilian movie from the library earlier that week, so after dinner Thursday night when we got back to their place we watched it since both Tyler and Mike went to Brazil on their missions and they wanted to hear some portuguese for a couple of hours. It was an interesting movie to say the least; but parts of it were kind of funny. My parents also took us to krispy kreme donuts after dinner, I think mostly because my dad loves to feed Quincy the donuts. Thanks Tyler and Kati for letting me stay with you guys! Also, thanks Kati for going on that little run Thursday, that was fun! Hopefully you guys can make it down to Utah sometime.

I'm back!

It's official i'm a BYU student again! Today I went and got my new student ID card from BYU and in less than a month I'll be back in school. After I got my ID card I realized that in the past 3 years I look a little different... ha. I wish i still had my picture from 3 years ago at BYU to compare to my new one. But i just have the new picture they took for my card.

FHE: water kickball

last night for fhe my ward played water kickball. i had never played it before and it turned out to be really fun. except for during the first 5 minutes of the game when kent pelted me with the ball while standing less than 10 feet away; i'm most definate i'll have a bruise from that! ha. other than that it was a lot of fun.

I graduated from TVCC! (haha... is that really an accomplishment?)

Well its official I recieved my 2 year degree from Treasure Valley Community College in the mail the other day; but since i'm not at home I have yet to see it, but none the less I still got it! Amazingly enough the 2 years I spent there went by really really fast! I think it's because the entire time I was there I was either playing basketball or running track. Playing college basketball was so much fun! My team didn't end up doing as well as we should've and could've, but it was still a great experience. What made it even better was that my mom and dad went to just about every game. It was good to have them there to watch and support me. During my first year at TVCC I was recruited to run track for the college (they must have thought I looked fast cuz really I'm not a fast runner). I had not run track since I was in the 8th grade, but decided I had nothing better to do with my time so I might as well and I'm so glad that I did! Although I was good, it was a lot of fun and it helped me to get into better shape for basketball season. My first year I ran the 400m relay and the 1600m relay. Our 1600m relay team got 3rd place at championships my first year and this last year we were 4th. My second my coach somehow convinced me to run the 400m hurdles (let me tell you, that race kills!). It took some time figure out what I was doing, but I ended up qualifying for the finals at championships and placed 7th. I was proud of myself for the fact the it was the first time I'd ever ran that event and the fact that I'm not really a runner. All in all, playing sports at TVCC was a wonderful experience and I am so glad I was able to have that opportunity!
